Seaward Engineered Plastics incorporate several unique features that draw upon state of the art advances in the use of thermoplastic resins and the design of composites.

Unique Manufacturing Process

The manufacturing process was developed by Seaward engineers to produce a composite in a continuous process. This method is exclusive to Seaward.

Plastic Matrix

The plastic material is derived from 100% recycled plastic. These plastics are enhanced by the addition of antioxidants and ultraviolet inhibitors to retard the effects of ultraviolet light on the plastic. This durable and environmentally safe product is called Duralin™ and is impervious to marine borer activity.

Structural Reinforcements

Seaward Engineered Plastics: SEAPILE Composite Marine Piling and SEATIMBER Composite Marine Timber are able to function as well as they do as a result of the structural elements placed within the matrix during the manufacturing process. These structural elements consist of either fiberglass or steel. Each has different operating characteristics.

Tough Outer Skin

Seaward Engineered Plastics have a tough outer skin that affords the maximum amount of protection against ultraviolet light. Its hard surface helps to reduce friction between vessel and pile and between ice and pile. The material found in the core also has U.V. protection.
